Description:
Item Name: Reconnaissance A.R. Armor
Available Sizes: Small, Medium, & Large
Available Types: Light, Medium, & Heavy
Description:
Reconnaissance A.R. Armor is a stealth variant of Adamant Reactive Armor that sacrifices a portion of the original’s defensive capabilities in exchange for imperceptibility and advanced perception. This armor uses holographic projection to create a field of active camouflage that renders the wearer nearly undetectable within the normal visible light spectrum. At the same time the unit continuously negates all sound between 10Hz and 30kHz within (5)ft of the wearer. Neither of these functions impair the abilities of the wearer so long as the armor’s helmet is deployed, which augments the users senses with auditory and visual filters designed to counter these effects. Both or either of these features can be activated or deactivated with a move action.
For the most part these abilities function like the spells Silence and Greater Invisibility with the following exceptions: 1) A character that attacks from active camouflage disrupts its holographic image temporarily negating some of its benefits, until the beginning of the character’s next turn the user becomes opaquely visible and looses the (50%) mischance from total concealment normally granted by invisibility. 2) The armor’s sound baffling technology does not cancel all sound, rather only that within most peoples normal hearing range. Creatures with exceptional auditory senses such as bats or any other creature that can use echolocation remain unaffected.
Functions & Features:
The visual and auditory filters in the Recon Armor’s helmet are designed to work in tandem with the sensor capabilities of its integrated Omni-Glove. So long as both pieces of equipment are functioning properly the wearer gains the benefit of Blindsight out to (60)ft. This data can be shared with any ally with a HUD system that is interfaced with the same data network. This effectively allows nearby teammates to perceive and target otherwise imperceptible foes by using a Recon unit as a spotter.
Reconnaissance A.R. Armor has been designed to eluded electronic sensors of PL (8) or lower. Any Computer Use check to detect a character wearing this armor has a DC of (30), PL (9) sensors can detect this equipment with only a DC of (10), and PL (6) or lower sensors can not detect this equipment at all.
Reconnaissance A.R. Armor has the same adaptive and energy resistant qualities of Adamant Reactive Armor granting a Resistance of (10) to any (1) basic energy type in a given round.
Reconnaissance A.R. Armor has a limited activation time and draws power form an energy pack located in its sensor rig. A single standard energy pack allows for (30) collective minutes of use, or (2.5) hours when using a Z.P.E. pack, or (5) hours with an energy backpack, afterwords the device stops functioning altogether and the battery must be replaced or recharged.
