Description:
When integrated into a melee weapon a Mind Blade Quillian allows the weapon’s wielder to channel psionic energy from the item’s reservoir to improve the chance of a successful strike or to improve the weapon’s potential damage capacity.
Functions & Features:
A Mind Blade Quillian’s psionic capacitor can store up to (30) power points and can expend up to (4) points per turn. These points can be divided between the item’s two functions in any way the wielder chooses. This is determined at the beginning of the wielder’s turn and counts as a mental free action.
1) Each power point used to improve accuracy provides the wielder with a (+1) Insight Bonus to Attack Rolls with this specific weapon until the end of that character’s turn.
2) Each power point used to improve damage causes the weapon to deal an extra (1d6) points of psionic energy damage on a successful hit. This effect last only until the end of the wielders turn.
Any time this device is activated it causes its component weapon to glow with an eerie blue-green light that emits shadowy illumination within a (5) ft. radius for (1) round.
Notes:
A Mind Blade Quillian is a PL (8) Psi-Tech device and gathers the ambient psionic energy of its wielder to replenish its capacitor. These items recharge a number of power points every (24) hours equal to their wielder’s base Will Save + their Wisdom Modifier. The device must remain within (10) ft. of its wielder at all times to replenish itself. If removed from its owner for more than (1) hour during a (24) hour charge cycle, that cycle is lost, and the device recovers no power. A character with psionic class levels can accelerate this process by investing their own power points into the device; this is a full-round action. A Psi-Tech device of this kind cannot derive power from a source other than its owner unless the two sources are of the same alignment. A new owner is required to keep the device on or near their person for (24) hours before any residual psionic energy in the device can attune itself to the user, at which point the device can replenish itself as normal.
This device fills (4) of a weapon’s (10) Tech-Upgrade Slots.
This device can only be integrated into a (+1) Masterwork or better weapon.
Modifying an existing weapon to incorporate this device requires a Craft Mechanical and a Craft Structural Check, DC (30) for both, and at least (4) hours of work.
